#OpenYourEyes: Colombiatex 2018

The 30th edition of Colombiatex by Inexmoda, the institute behind many of the country’s most significant fashion events, communicated one definitive statement: That in order for fashion and design industry stakeholders to continue to connect with their consumers, they must be attentive to the constant changes and opportunities available in the market. Consequently, the theme “Open Your Eyes” became a reminder to fashion and design industry players that their brand is only as good as their ability to keep up with trends and technology.

The trade show offers Latin American fashion and interior design industry stakeholders the opportunity to discover textiles, supplies, chemicals, and machinery meant to supply their production for the first semester of the year.

Every year the Colombiatex trends forum predicts the 2018 Spring-Summer trends, with this year’s displaying over predicted over 1,700 fabrics from countries Colombia, India, Turkey, Brazil, Spain and Japan.

In an effort to promote trade with Brazil, the country was invited as a special guest. And tapping in on the importance of innovative prints and talented illustrators, Inexmoda launched the graphic market, a space that exhibits the works of nearly 30 graphic and visual artists, promoting trends in print illustration and independent design. Finally, an alliance between Inexmoda and New York City-based trendhunting forum Fashion Snoops reiterated the importance of staying up-to-date with consumer behavior and trends. colombiatex.inexmoda.org.co
